Rolling Out the Welcome Mat

Artists Respond to the RNC

"Do you want to spend the rest of your life fighting for a cause that you believe in? Or do you want to spend the rest of your life fighting for a cause that you think is going to win?"

from "All Rights Reserved: A Libertarian Rage"

Praise for the Artists

"Angry common sense was never dripping with such tasty snake oil. This guy's got his tricorne hat on sideways, and he's menacingly waving his fife at you!"

- Lee Brennise, Chair of the Libertarian Party of Minnesota, about phillip low and Maximum Verbosity

"Anyone who aspires to write political satire should hear this brilliant duo."

- Sing Out Magazine, about the Nonsense Company

"The Rockstars, as a group, sport a polished, radio-style storytelling, dripping with coffee-and-cigarette-soaked hipster irony--a reflection of their backgrounds doing Fringe, non-storytelling spoken word, and in some cases, radio itself."

- City Pages, about the Rockstar Storytellers

About the Show

The RNC is coming to the Twin Cities, but we were here first. Come hear how some of Minneapolis' leading Fringe artists respond to this invasion of their home turf.

Irascible libertarian playwright phillip low and the Maximum Verbosity comedy troupe, fresh off of their multi-Fringe tour, present a special director's cut of their irreverent sketch comedy All Rights Reserved: A Libertarian Rage. Fringe favorite The Nonsense Company, from California and Wisconsin, returns to Minneapolis to throw down some satirical songs. They'll be performing as special guests with the Rockstar Storytellers, the infamous supergroup of ten of the Fringe's biggest hit storytellers, in the late-night cabaret News in Briefs: Stories of Politics.

WARNING: This show contains profanity, gunshots, and other reckless exploitation of the First and Second Amendments.
